Simply Health and Safety was established in 2003 by Oliver Taylor to provide health and safety audits and environmental assessments for the insurance market and the automotive industry. The business is thriving and provides risk management, general health and safety and environmental management services to a wide spectrum of clients.

Today we have a team of associates who are all highly qualified risk consultants, safety practitioners and environmentalists. Each adding value in their area of expertise. Collectively we are able to offer a wide range of services and confidently provide a customised solution to meet your business’ requirements.

Simply Health and Safety provide our services nationwide through our network of regional offices in Northern Scotland, Kent, Central England (Oxfordshire) and the North West (Cheshire).

Our approach is to fully understand a business’ needs in relation to risk and/or the impact on the environment and offer practical solutions.

People

Oliver Taylor – Managing Director

 

With over 18 years in the industry, Oliver (Olly) has a wealth of experience and knowledge to help businesses meet their health and safety requirements. In 2003 he saw an opening to assist the insurance market and vehicle manufacturers with value added audits and created Simply Health and Safety.

Prior to establishing the business he worked in various industries and was the Health and Safety Manager for a large international plc with over 3000 staff and 40 offices worldwide.

Olly collaborates with his clients and associates to ensure all risk, environmental and health and safety matters are managed in the most professional, efficient and cost effective manner.

Katie Taylor – Director, Client Manager

 

Katie is a client services manager with over 15 years experience with global corporations such as Oracle and PeopleSoft.

She is customer and results focussed with a background in sales, marketing, training and recruitment.

For Simply Health and Safety Katie manages marketing and client delivery and oversees the office support team.

 

Phil Roberts – Consultant

Phil Roberts  

Phil is an experienced Health and Safety Manager and Consultant with excellent training, motivational and communication skills. His areas of expertise include petrochemicals, further education, newspaper production, railway & rolling stock maintenance and environmental consulting.

IOSH

Phil is highly qualified and has a wealth of experience to effectively carry out audits or deliver training. He is a Chartered Member of IOSH, an IRCA accredited Auditor, Manual Handling and Ergonomics Instructor, IOSH Trainer and NEBOSH Examiner on Unit “A”.

Shindo Dulai – Consultant / Trainer

Shindo Dulai  

Shindo has over 17 years in Health and Safety management, consultancy and training. Her specialism’s are in the chemical, logistics and manufacturing industries. However her vast experience with Health and Safety allows her to work with any client across a broad spectrum of work environments. She is motivated and possesses excellent training and communication skills. She also heads up our training department.

IOSH

Shindo is a Chartered Member of IOSH as well as being an IOSH and NEBOSH trainer and examiner.

Sheila Wellstead – Consultant / Trainer

 

Sheila has a background in Facilities and HR management, where Health & Safety was a key responsibility. She is highly qualified and has an empathy to the practical implementation of best practice to health, safety and wellbeing for employers.

Sheila has also developed an Online based Training and Risk Assessment for Display Screen Equipment Users.

Sheila is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and has some Managing Safely Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) qualifications and is a registered CIEH Training Centre (No.53408).

 

Allan Ferguson – Consultant

 

Allan has spent 35 years of his career largely in the management of statutory compliance for major organisations in the engineering, printing, IT and retail industries.

This has involved advising senior management on health and safety best practice, designing and implementing health and safety management systems, conducting risk assessments and safety audits and training staff on related topics. Allan has a wealth of experience to provide consulting or training at all levels of business.

 

Carol Green – Consultant

 

Carol has extensive experience of managing health and safety risks within high, medium and low-risk environments. With over 20 years experience of occupational health and safety, environmental and quality management. Carol has a very practical and ‘hands-on’ approach to helping organisations achieve their objectives efficiently and effectively. Industry sectors include manufacturing, retail, banking, construction, railways, warehousing, local authorities, care homes and animal welfare, where she has developed a thorough knowledge of issues affecting these industries.

Carol is a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and IOSH and a Tutor at the Inverness College of the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Carol can deliver IOSH accredited training, or develop and deliver customised courses according to needs.

History

Simply Health and Safety was established in 2003 to help companies interpret, understand and implement the legislation in their workplace.

Originally specialising in audits for the insurance industry we have expanded our range of services to meet the growing need for occupational health and safety, environmental services and risk assessments in all industries.

We achieved the International Environmental Management standard and became ISO 14001 accredited in February 2009.

Our common sense, cost effective and customised approach to risk management and its control creates confidence with our clients.
